The artifact I chose to use for my geometric sequence is a collection of geometric sequences. We used various exponents based on what term we were trying to find, the first term of the sequence (the first number in the sequence) and multiplication/division to find the answer to the equation given to us. You determine what exponent to use based on the term you are finding. An example of this is if you are finding the 8 tern you would use the exponent of 7 because (n-1). The variable n is the term you are finding. The skills I used in this artifact were problem solving and communication. I used communication to ask my teacher and peers questions that I had. I also answered questions my peers asked. I can use these skills when I am in the working world and I need to communicate with my co. workers and bosses. My strengths when I did this assignment is finding the common difference using multiplication. My challenge was using the exponent to find the answer to the equation. Where are geometric sequences found in nature? Why does the equation use an exponent? Geometric sequences are also found in nature in the form of land forms and plants.
